In February, a select group of alumni joined the NSLC and the National Relief Network on a volunteer service trip to New Orleans, LA. Along wtih our Director of Leadership Development, Robert Pruitt, the students helped remove debris and gutted several homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina, preparing them for renovation.
Our group had an incredible opportunity to spend the afternoon with one of the homeowners as he shared his heart-wrenching story and his heart-warming hospitality. Students took a break from their work to enjoy a homemade Louisiana barbecue and listen to one family's experience during Hurricane Katrina.
The Alumni Service Program wasn't just an opportunity to complete a service project. Working with Mr. Pruitt students explored the foundations of service and learned the keys to developing their own successful service program.
The first trip of its kind for NSLC Alumni, the entire experience was life-changing for all those who participated.

Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, New York University will host NSLC students for the first time during summer 2008. NSLC students attending select sessions of the Entrepreneurship & Business or Sports & Entertainment Management programs will have the opportunity to live and learn on the campus of one of America's most dynamic university.
The NSLC on Sports & Entertainment Management uses an interactive approach to learning that gives you an opportunity to immerse yourself in the challenging complexities of the sports and entertainment worlds. You and your team will experience the ups and downs of managing the career of a star athlete or entertainer during a realistic client management simulation. You will control your client’s fortunes as you negotiate contracts, land sponsorship deals, and manage public opinion.
