Sports and Entertainment

Management

Manage your client-

        Guide their career

Do you dream of representing the next great sports superstar? Do you want to run a major music festival or sporting event? At the National Student Leadership Conference on Sports & Entertainment Management, you will have the opportunity to experience what it’s like to guide the career of a star athlete or entertainer and manage one of the world’s premier sporting events or music festivals.

Interactive Career Simulations
The NSLC on Sports & Entertainment Management uses an interactive approach to learning that gives you an opportunity to immerse yourself in the challenging complexities of the sports and entertainment worlds. You and your team will experience the ups and downs of managing the career of a star athlete or entertainer during a realistic client management simulation. You will control your client’s fortunes as you negotiate contracts, land sponsorship deals, and manage public opinion.

Meet Sports & Entertainment Management Professionals
While at the NSLC, you will meet with and learn from leaders in the world of sports and entertainment management. In past years, NSLC students have heard from special guest speakers including top executives and managers from the International Olympic Committee, D.C. United and the Staten Island Yankees. You will experience the sports and entertainment management world firsthand during exclusive site visits and tours at:

  • Yankee Stadium
  • Madison Square Garden
  • The Meadowlands

At the NSLC Alumni service program, you will have the opportunity to work with your fellow NSLC alumni to make a real difference in an area affected by Hurricane Katrina. Each day, you and your peers will work in and around New Orleans, cleaning up damaged areas and lending your time and energy to rebuilding parks, houses and playgrounds.

DEVELOP YOUR LEADERSHIP SKILLS
Each evening you will work with nationally-renowned leadership trainer Robert Pruitt to discover and develop the skills and techniques needed to serve your community on a greater level. You will learn how to develop and manage your own service projects as you identify the needs of your community.
